About us

Hello my name is Ron Lemire. Welcome to my website at Integrative Health Therapies.  The service I am offering is a synthesis of 33 years of experience in the Holistic Health field.  My background of knowledge is from travels, studies and apprenticeships with remarkable teachers.  The hands on approach I use in manipulative therapies are on the leading edge of what today is known as Bodywork. I do not follow the conventional path of modern medicine but with certain conditions I have worked closely with doctors to support the healing process.  I generally don’t categorize illnesses or dis-eases of the Body/Mind condition, as I work with the body’s intelligence to direct the healing process. When I work on the body I can discern the vitality by palpating and manipulating the musculoskeletal aspects of the connective tissue. In most conditions I have a general sense of what needs to be done to help the body towards alignment. When your body is out of alignment with pain and accompanied with mental stresses, it is both natural and important to seek balance.  In any given treatment I may suggest working with natural remedies to support the individual physically and emotionally.  It may be important to approach a more supportive lifestyle that strengthens the Vital Force of the body or simply to help fine tune the lifestyle that is serving you well at this time.

My hands-on skills have been developing over the course of three decades with intermittent clinical experience in the study of structural imbalances such as the degenerative diseases of Arthritis and related structural disorders.  I am also experienced with fine tuning performance professionals such as dancers, musicians and athletes.  I work with several modalities such as Hoshino Therapy which is a refined form of Shiatsu, Myofascial release work, and Therapeutic Touch, which is working with the craniosacral rhythm of the body.  My purpose with all clients is to help restore and promote the Vital Force of the body by removing its resistance to alignment. This equally helps to release the accompanying resistances of the Mind. Living in a Body/Mind continuum I do not see the body as a separate entity.  It is constantly changing and evolving.

My credentials are the following: * I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering, from Maine Maritime Academy * I am a Certified Herbalist and have been involved with Herbology since 1974 as I apprenticed with a medicine man from the Lakota Sioux Native Americans, Kim Stearns of Green Mountain Herbs, William LeSassier,  Naboru Muramoto, Margie Flint and Matthew Wood. * I am a Certified Homeopath and have apprenticed with Dr. Robin Murphy, Dr. George Graf, Dr. Timothy Binder and many other teachers too numerous to include, but no less important.  I have been involved in the study of Homeopathy since 1974 as it is an ongoing study.  It is practiced all over the world and is most popular today in England and India.  There are many established places here in America and you need only search the Internet to discover there whereabouts.  I am a Certified Hoshino Therapist and apprenticed directly under Professor Tomezo Hoshino as well as Richard Zukowski who was director of the Hoshino Therapy Clinics in Miami and Boca Raton, Florida.  I have had extensive training over the years in manual modalities and have been certified in Position Technic- the Science of Centering, Polarity Therapy, Reiki,  Fascial Release Work, Therapeutic Touch, Craniosacral Therapy through the Upledger InstituteI am a Certified Massage Therapist from the Florida School of Massage and I am licensed in the State of Maine and Hawaii.  I am also trained in Lomi Lomi Hawaiian Massage Therapy.

Concerning the above hands-on or manual therapies, Hoshino Therapy is my principle and dominant therapy as I find it to be most effective for a wide cross section of conditions.  It is an expression of Oriental Philosophy utilizing as many as 250 specific points in a given treatment.  The points are found along the tendon fiber of the muscles, and coincide with energy pathways called meridians.  The experience of receiving a Hoshino Therapy treatment is like increasing the electrical or vitality system of the body.  Even after one treatment there is a noticeable to a dramatic improvement from before.

My clinical training with Hoshino Therapy began with the study of Osteo-arthritis in the Florida Clinics but was not limited to working only on Arthritis.  Long before the idea of “Sports Therapy” became popular, our clinics were treating sports injuries and basic tonify ing treatments to athletes from the surrounding High Schools, Universities and Professional teams such as the Miami Dolphins.  As therapists, we were trained to discern the quality of a muscle from its most vital condition to the beginnings of debility that Professor Hoshino called Arthrosis.  Treatments would include accompanying exercises to insure rehabilitation and longevity to a given joint area.

Holistic health has to do with taking the whole person into perspective and providing the necessary education to maintain a level of awareness in Self Care.  Self Care is a prerequisite to the strengthening of health and well being.  It includes a movement regiment that keeps the body and mind in harmony such as Yoga, Martial Arts, or exercises that are cardiovascular. Walking or jogging in fresh air with deep breathing can do more than most health clubs can offer. Along with movement is a nutritional component to health.  This is easier than it sounds when common sense is applied to the “choice of food department”.  But then again, yesterday’s common sense has become today’s mysticism, so a little review on the basics wouldn’t hurt.
